Anambra State Police Command has commenced activities marking the 2026 National Police Day (NPD) celebration with a sanitation exercise and a free medical outreach aimed at promoting community health and strengthening police-community relations.
According to Command’s spokesperson, Tochukwu Ikenga the event, which took place across the eight Area Commands as well as 56 Divisional Police headquarters locations in the State, saw officers and men of the Command actively participate in environmental sanitation, reinforcing the importance of a clean and healthy environment as part of public safety.
He said the Command also organized a free medical outreach where officers/residents benefitted from basic health checks and medical consultations.

“The initiative underscores the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to not only ensure security but also contribute to the overall well-being of the citizens.
“To this end, the Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu noted that the activities form part of a broader line-up of events scheduled to commemorate the National Police Day on April 7, 2026.
“He emphasized that the Command remains dedicated to community-oriented policing and will continue to engage in initiatives that foster trust and collaboration with the public.
“The Command enjoins residents to continue supporting the Police in their efforts to maintain peace and security across the State.”
