The Airport Police Command in Lagos has intercepted a 14-year-old boy, identified as Eke Miracle, over an attempted stowaway incident at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport.

The teenager was discovered on the airside of the airport while trying to gain access beneath an aircraft—an act considered a major violation of aviation security within a highly restricted zone.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Mohammed Ademola, the minor unlawfully gained entry into the facility without authorization and was swiftly taken into protective custody.

He explained that the boy’s parents were immediately contacted, and due process was followed, including interviews conducted in their presence while ensuring the child’s safety and welfare.

The Commissioner of Police, Airport Command, Mrs. Ogunbode Olufunke, reaffirmed the command’s commitment to safeguarding critical aviation infrastructure, stressing that strict security protocols must always be adhered to.

She also urged parents to keep close watch over their children, particularly in sensitive environments like airports, adding that the matter will be handled in accordance with juvenile justice procedures.
