The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Anambra State Sector Command has reassured motoring public of its commitment to ensuring safer roads before, during and after the Sallah celebration.
Sector Commander, Corps Commander Bridget Asekhauno gave the assurance on Wednesday during a road show/rally organized by the Corps to promote safe road use ahead of the 2026 Sallah celebration.
She said the exercise was aimed at educating motorists, passengers, and other road users on the importance of adhering to traffic rules and regulations, particularly on the dangers of overloading and speeding.
According to her, the road show was part of the Corps’ strategic public enlightenment efforts to reduce road traffic crashes and save lives, especially during festive periods.
She said, “The rally was carried out across strategic locations in Awka metropolis, including the Awka-Enugu Expressway and major motor parks, with officers and marshals distributing safety flyers and engaging with drivers and passengers.
“The exercise recorded positive responses, with many motorists commending the Corps and pledging to obey traffic rules.
“Transport union leaders also expressed their commitment to supporting the FRSC in ensuring discipline and safety among drivers.
“The Command reassures the motoring public of its commitment to ensuring safer roads before, during, and after the Sallah celebration.”
