“Tinubu has failed Nigerians, must be voted out in 2027” – Anambra Prophet

Uzukwu

The Spiritual Head of Soul Revival Outreach in Nnewi, Anambra State, Prophet Ikechukwu Uzukwu, has declared that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has “failed woefully” in governance and should be voted out of office in the 2027 general elections.

Speaking on Sunday, the cleric said he felt compelled to speak out over what he described as worsening conditions in the country, lamenting that voices criticizing the current administration were being suppressed.

According to him, the level of hardship, insecurity and unemployment in Nigeria has reached alarming proportions under the present administration.

Prophet Uzukwu also criticized opposition political parties, accusing them of lacking seriousness and failing to present a credible challenge to the ruling government.

He said many opposition figures appear more interested in personal ambitions than in providing solutions to Nigeria’s problems.

“The opposition parties are busy engaging in self-destructive battles and personal aggrandizement instead of offering Nigerians a clear alternative,” he said.

The cleric argued that Nigeria, under the leadership of President Tinubu, has become a country “consuming its own people,” insisting that the administration has failed in several critical areas of governance.

Heightened insecurity

“President Tinubu’s administration has failed in almost every aspect of governance — from security to employment generation and the creation of a conducive environment for businesses,” he said.

He further noted that the level of hunger and hardship in the country was unprecedented, adding that many families could no longer afford basic meals.

Prophet Uzukwu also expressed concern about the worsening security situation, saying that cases of abduction and killings were being reported almost daily.

“There is hardly any day that Nigerians are not abducted or killed by terrorists and criminal elements,” he said.

“If it is not ISIS or insurgents, it will be other criminal groups operating freely because of the failure of government to decisively deal with them.”

The preacher also lamented the growing number of people begging for alms across the country, attributing the development to the inability of governments at all levels to create jobs and economic opportunities.

Worsening poverty

He stressed that a country as richly endowed as Nigeria should not be grappling with widespread poverty and hardship.

Prophet Uzukwu said he does not belong to any political camp, stressing that he is neither aligned with the “City Boys Movement” nor the “Village Boys Movement,” but rather identifies with what he described as the “People’s Movement.”

He therefore called on Nigerians to unite and work towards what he described as the removal of bad governance in the next general election.

“As the 2027 election approaches, all hands must be on deck to end what has become bad governance in our country,” he said.

The cleric also warned Nigerians against returning to familiar political choices without careful consideration.

He specifically advised voters not to turn to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, recalling comments he said the former presidential candidate made in 2023 about borrowing from foreign sources if elected president.

According to him, Nigeria’s challenges require leaders with clear ideas on economic management rather than those who would rely heavily on external borrowing.

Prophet Uzukwu concluded by urging Nigerians to rise above ethnic and religious divisions as they prepare for the next election cycle.

“Hunger has no tribe or religion,” he said. “Hunger is the same in Sokoto, Oyo, Anambra and Rivers. Nigerians must remember this as they decide the future of the country in 2027.”
