The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Anambra State Chapter, has conferred its prestigious 2026 Lifetime Reputation Management Award on distinguished personalities for their outstanding performances and contributions to the state and humanity.
Among the beneficiaries of the award regarded as one of the Institute’s highest honours in professional and public life were billionaire industrialist, Chief Cletus Ibeto, Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the State Police Command, Tochukwu Ikenga, Medical Director, Princeton Specialist Hospital and Orthopedic Center, Awka, Dr. Amaechi Nwachukwu.
According to the Institute, the honour recognises Ikenga’s outstanding contributions to professional communication, reputation management, and public service within the policing system and the broader society.
“The award followed a rigorous multi-level evaluation process that assessed Ikenga’s public service record, leadership footprint, ethical standing, and sustained contributions to societal advancement.
“Ikenga’s unwavering commitment to credibility, integrity, and positive influence clearly distinguished him as a benchmark for reputation excellence and public confidence,” it added.
Receiving the award on Friday at the International Convention Centre (ICC), Awka, Ikenga described the recognition as a great honour and encouragement to do more in the service of the public.
He expressed deep appreciation to the Anambra State Police Command and the Nigeria Police Force for giving him the opportunity to serve in such an important capacity.
According to him, the responsibility of managing police-public communication is demanding and requires constant dedication.
“This job is a serious battle that demands serious attention,” he said.
Ikenga also extended gratitude to journalists and media professionals who have supported him in carrying out his duties.
“I want to thank the journalists who have supported me in this job. I sincerely appreciate them for their wonderful support,” he added.
