First Director-General of National Orientation Agency (NOA), Prof Elochukwu Amucheazi has decried what he described as lack of interest of Nigerian governors in the current condition of the country.
He described them as pretty Governors who were after enriching themselves with the public funds at the detriment of Nigerian masses.
Amucheazi spoke when the entire management and staff of the Agency led by State Acting Director NOA in Anambra State, Barrister Lady Ifeoma Chijioke paid him a courtesy visit in his Umunachi Community in Dunukofia Local Government Area to celebrate him.
“No Nigerian Governor is interested in what is happening in the country today.
“They are after enriching themselves with the public funds to detriment of Nigerian masses,” he added.
Recounting his days in Abuja as the NOA DG, Umuecheazi, a professor of political science decried the current condition of the Agency, saying that is passing through difficult times.
A lot before NOA
He observed that greater percentage of Nigerian were also passing a lot of trials, reminding the leadership of the agency in the country that they have lot of work to do to re-engineer the faith of the country from total collapse.
State Acting Director NOA, Mrs Ifeoma Chijioke showered encomium on the ex-DG, describing him as a rare gem and human capital developer.
“NOA can’t thank you enough for your obvious contributions not only to the development of the country, but humanity at large, especially at the grassroots,” she added.
Chijioke prayed for God’s continued blessings on Umuecheazi as he continued to push forward to holistic development of the country, and humanity.
Immediate past State Director of the Agency, Mr.Edozie Ajaegbu lauded the motive behind the visit, saying he was happy to be part of the history made in the course of the visit.
On his part, Deputy Director Civic, Values and Democracy Education, Mr Remigius Obi said NOA in the State had been engaging the people, especially at the grassroots, persuading them to go register and obtain their voter’s permanent cards from INEC to enable them exercise their civic responsibilities at the polls, come 2027 general elections.
