A stalwart of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), High Chief Ben Obi (Igwe APGA) has advised the Anambra State governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo to sack non performing commissioners.

He said Soludo as a matter of fact needs to lay off 80 percent of his serving commissioners and advisers and appoint fresh hands.

Similarly, Obi said all 21 incumbent Local Government Areas Chairmen and Councilors should be disqualified in the build up towards the August 29 LGA poll.

According to him, Anambra and APGA as a party do not lack human capacity, stressing that there are too many qualified people in the queue.

“The sack of non performing commissioners and Mayors who have always been telling people that they are not getting anything from the position they occupy will enhance productivity as new heads with new ideas will join the solution government.

“This in turn will enhance the reward system of the party. So many Mayors failed abysmally and allowing them to continue is to enthrone mediocrity,” he said.

Obi also stressed the need for the LGAs election aspirants screening panels in all local government areas, to be trained and given appropriate guidelines to ensure aspiring Mayors and Councillors are true APGA faithful and are qualified without questionable certificates.

While urging Soludo, APGA National and State Chairmen as well as Special Adviser to Soludo on Political Matters, Dr Alex Obiogbolu to take proper note of his submission, APGA stalwart insisted that government is all about enthronement of meritocracy not mediocrity.
