The Nigerian Army’s 2 Division has launched Operation Igbo Danu (Operation Forest Flush), successfully dislodging terrorist elements from Garin Dandi, a notorious bandit hideout in Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State.
Troops of the 22 Armoured Brigade, operating with strong support from the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA), carried out sustained and coordinated offensive operations across the Joint Operations Area (JOA), recording significant operational successes.
This was disclosed in a statement issued by Captain Maureen Ogbuka on behalf of the Acting Deputy Director, Army Public Relations, 2 Division, Nigerian Army/Sector 3 Operations FANSAN YAMMA.
According to the statement, the operations demonstrate the troops’ high level of responsiveness and unwavering determination to dismantle terrorist networks operating within the area.
During the offensive, troops neutralized several terrorists while others fled into surrounding forests with gunshot wounds.

The troops also overran remote camps previously inaccessible to security forces, destroying multiple abandoned camps and key logistics enablers.
This action, the Army said, has significantly degraded the terrorists’ capacity to sustain their activities.
The Nigerian Army urged members of the public to continue providing credible and timely information on bandits and their collaborators.
It noted that such cooperation remains critical to the success of ongoing operations within Kwara State and beyond.
