Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle and midfielder Alex Iwobi say Nigeria remain confident ahead of Wednesday’s AFCON semi-final against Morocco despite a demanding travel schedule.
Nigeria endured multiple trips between Fès and Marrakech before travelling to Rabat for the semi-final, unlike Morocco who have played all their matches in Rabat.
Chelle acknowledged the physical and mental strain but insisted the team was focused and determined.
“At this level, excuses don’t count. The players are mentally strong and ready to compete,” he said.
He added that Nigeria may start more compact before increasing intensity later in the match.
Iwobi said the Super Eagles’ unbeaten run was driven by belief and unity.
“Our mindset hasn’t changed. We trust the plan and we’re fighting for each other,” he said.
The match will be played at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat, with a place in the AFCON final at stake.
