Five nabbed over vandalism, theft in Anambra community

Police in Anambra State have arrested five suspects connected to the vandalism and theft at an international company in Agulu, Anaocha Local Government Area.

The Command’s spokesperson, Tochukwu Ikenga, disclosed this on Thursday, explaining that officers made the arrests while following up on a case of conspiracy and armed robbery.

He said operatives recovered one pump action gun, ten live cartridges, and a black motorcycle from the suspects.

Ikenga stated: “In a coordinated operation on the evening of December 8, 2025, operatives of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) Awkuzu, working with personnel from Neni Divisional Headquarters, arrested five male suspects linked to the vandalism and theft at an international company in Agulu, Anaocha LGA.

“The recovered items include one pump action gun, ten live cartridges, and one black motorcycle.

“The suspects are: Okemili Chikwado (20), Collins Nwakpa (23), Chukwuemeka Igboke (18), Nwali Chinedu (18), and Ekene Nwakwo (22).

“During interrogation, the suspects confessed to the crime and identified one Arinze as the main buyer of the stolen items.

“Investigations are ongoing, and officers are working to arrest the remaining fleeing suspects and recover the stolen or vandalised equipment.”
