Candidate of the Action Alliance in the November 8 governorship election, Ozo Jeff Nweke has reassured the people of the state of his preparedness to win the election.
Nweke said he would not be surprised if he would be declared winner by the electoral umpire.
Speaking to newsmen on Tuesday shortly after a ‘Road Show’ that attracted massive turnout of supporters, the AA flagbearer said the expectations of the people were summoned up in him.
“The people are convinced I’m going to represent them well if I win. They’re convinced I’ll speak their language and look at them with human face.
“All these their expectations are summed up in me. So no one will be surprised and I won’t be surprised that come November 8, I’ll emerge the winner,” he said.
On security, Nweke said he was not expecting any untoward situation throughout the electioneering period.
He added, “I don’t think there’s anything that will disrupt the security situation of the state before, during and after the election.
“I believe every unforeseen situation has been taken care of by the security agencies and the INEC.
“We expect the security personnel to live up to the expectations. No stone should be left unturned, including ensuring all machineries are put in place to deter any untoward situations.
“We’re hoping to witness a free, fair and peaceful election, especially with the new INEC chairman who has assured that Anambra election to be the freest and fairest poll ever conducted in Nigeria.”
When asked his reaction if the election outcome was unfavorable to him, the AA candidate said he would accept the verdict in good faith.
“I’ll only say the people have spoken that I’m not going to govern them this time around. I’ll accept the results without prejudice,” he added.
