Members of Catholic Order, Knights of St Michael The Archangel (CKSMA) on Friday vowed commitment to service to God and humanity devoid of fear or favour.

They also pledged to live up to expectations by doing their best to prove their mettle.

President, CKSMA, Sir James Ezeonu made the pledge during the group’s maiden anniversary, admission and investiture of new members by Catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Rev. Paulinus Ezeokafor.

He encouraged members to abide by the instructions, particularly living a life of holiness in order not to attract penalties.

He said, “The hallmark of this order is holiness with special attention to spirituality.

“We pray three times pay day; fast every Friday with only bread and water; while Tuesday is for our special prayers.

Derailment from calling

“During these prayers, we ask God to help us not to derail from our calling.

“Any violators of these tenets will go on suspension. And if there’s no remorse or repentance, we show him the exit door.

“But we encourage our members to abide by the instructions, particularly living a life of holiness.

“Our lifestyle is very important to show the world who we are. We pray for God’s grace to live holy lives that will attract others to God.

“It’s important to state that members of this Order are not saints. We are sinners who aspire to understudy the life of our Patron Saint, St. Michael the Archangel and seek his intercession and advocacy towards holiness to qualify for heaven at the end of our exile here on earth.

“We pledge to do our best to serve God and humanity without fear or favor.

“We also pledge to live up to expectations by doing our best to prove our mettle.”

Ezeonu commended the outstanding performances of Governor Chukwuma Soludo-led administration.

He said the feats were enough testimonial to consider him for second term to enable him complete his set goals.

“Members of this order, having critically analyzed the work -records of Mr. Governor, join the greater majority of citizens of the state to appreciate his efforts towards achieving his campaign manifesto of turning Anambra to a new Dubai.

Free education and health services

“His free education, free healthcare services free antenatal clinic, free child delivery, wonderful network of roads are, community developments to mention a few are enough testimonial to consider allowing him a constitutional second term to enable him complete his set goals.

“The president however appealed to the governor to assist the group with a takeoff grant to erect its secretariat as well as evangelical bus for spreading of the gospel within and outside the state,” he added.

Earlier in his homily, Bishop Ezeokafor reassured continued support to the group and any other arm contributing to its growth and salvation of souls.

“What you’re doing is ordained by God and not only in this church, but practiced globally.

“The foundation you lay is very critical to your future. The church is fully behind you.

“The early church grew spiritually and numerically through the sacrificial lives they lived.

“You must do likewise by living worthy lives so your group can be attractive for maximum impact,” he added.
