My Children Can’t Find Jobs Because of My Name — Bode George

Chief Bode George

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, Chief Bode George, has expressed frustration that his children are unable to secure jobs in Nigeria because of his name.

George spoke during an interview on Nigeria Info FM 99.3, Lagos.

He decried the worsening economic hardship and widespread hunger in the country.

According to him, the plight of ordinary Nigerians should be the government’s top priority.

“Today in Nigeria, everywhere there is hunger and anger,” he said.

The former Deputy National Chairman of the PDP described the situation of Nigerian youths as dire.

George noted that many graduates and non-graduates alike are idle and hopeless.

“Graduates are floating — no future, no hope. Non-graduates are doing nothing,” he lamented.

George urged President Bola Tinubu to create a special fund to empower young people, particularly those without vocational skills.

He also urged him to provide micro-credit facilities for graduates who wish to start small businesses.

“I suggested that Mr. President should set up a special fund to empower those without skills and provide micro-credit for young graduates who want to start a business,” he said.

Lamenting further, George said, “The younger generation in this country, including my own children who graduated long ago, have tried to get jobs but can’t, simply because their surname is Bode George.”
