Obidient Movement in Anambra state has formally aligned with loyalists of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Awka South Local Government Area to endorse Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s re-election bid.
The endorsement rally, held in Amawbia, drew thousands of enthusiastic supporters, including APGA stakeholders, party leaders, government officials, traditional rulers, and representatives of youth and women’s groups.
In a symbolic gesture of commitment, Awka South APGA stakeholders and students jointly donated ₦103,515,500 to strengthen the governor’s campaign.
Speaking at the rally, Dr. Ossy Onuko, Chairman, Soludo Campaign Council in Awka South and Managing Director, Awka Capital Territory Development Authority (ACTDA) said all communities in the council area have unanimously resolved to back Soludo.
He cited the governor’s remarkable record in urban renewal and infrastructural transformation as the driving force behind their collective support.
Deputy Governor, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim who led the Awka South APGA delegation, expressed confidence that Soludo’s achievements would secure an even greater victory on November 8.
He urged Awka indigenes to mobilize and deliver a resounding mandate for continuity.
Movement’s commitment
Earlier, Diaspora Convener of the Obidients, Comr. Ikenna Azom-chine, reaffirmed the Obidient Movement’s commitment to Soludo’s vision for a prosperous and secure Anambra.
He described the governor as “the most credible and capable leader to sustain Anambra’s transformation.”
APGA stalwarts, including Engr. Obiorah Okafor (Awka Ward 6) and Pharm. Onyekachukwu Egbutu (Nise), echoed this sentiment, noting that Soludo’s inclusive governance and unprecedented attention to Awka have earned him the people’s renewed trust.
The Governor, visibly moved by the show of solidarity, thanked both APGA faithful and the Obidient family for prioritizing progress over partisanship.
He pledged to consolidate ongoing development projects and extend growth across the state if re-elected.
“Anambra is APGA land,” Soludo declared, reaffirming the party’s goal to win in all 5,720 polling units across the 21 local government areas. He also called on INEC to ensure a transparent, free, and fair election.
The rally featured goodwill messages from key figures, including Deputy Speaker Mr Chukwuma Pius Okoye, Chief Jude Agumadu, Chief Jude Nwankwo, Chief Azubuike Ekweozor and Mrs Ngozi Okoye all commending Soludo’s visionary leadership and pledging continued support.
Dignitaries present included Chief of Staff, Ernest Ezeajughi; Commissioner for Industry, Christian Udechukwu; Ocha Brigade MD Celestine Anere; ASHA MD Dr. Simeon Onyemaechi; ICT Agency MD, Fred Agbata; former APGA National Chairman, Victor Oye; Obinna Ndigwe; and Vera Atuigwe.
