The League of Anambra Professionals (LAP) has launched its Future Forward Scholarship Program, a major educational support initiative designed to assist brilliant but financially disadvantaged students of Anambra origin in pursuing higher education.
According to the organization, the scholarship targets young people who have successfully passed their JAMB examinations but are unable to gain admission into tertiary institutions due to financial hardship.
Described as one of LAP’s flagship Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) projects, the program seeks to give hope to young Ndi Anambra and strengthen the state’s human capital development through education.
Eligibility requirements include proof of indigent status, strong WAEC and JAMB results, evidence of good behavior or extracurricular participation.
Others are: confirmation of indigene status from the applicant’s Traditional Ruler or Town Union President-General, a one-page personal statement, and a supporting letter from a parent or guardian.
Interested candidates are to complete the online application form via www.leagueofanambraprofessionals.org, while enquiries can be directed to leagueofanambraprofessionals@gmail.com. The deadline for submission is October 15, 2025.
Long-standing commitment
Speaking on the initiative, LAP President, Mr Nnamdi Obi, explained that the scholarship reflects the organization’s long-standing commitment to empowering the next generation through education.
“This Future Forward Scholarship Scheme is part of our efforts to empower promising youths who would otherwise be denied the opportunity of higher education.
“By investing in these young people, we are investing in the future of Anambra State. We are shaping a generation of leaders, innovators, and change makers,” he said.
Obi, a pharmacist and Chief Executive Officer of Embassy Pharmaceuticals, further emphasized: “This scholarship is more than financial aid.
“It is hope for brilliant youths who might otherwise be denied education. It is our modest way of securing the future of Ndi Anambra through education.”
LAP also urged churches, schools, traditional rulers, and community leaders to help spread the message so the scholarship reaches the most deserving students across the state.
