UNIZIK Research Centre honors High School Principal

The Research Centre for Ageing Cognition and Psychological Health, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka has honoured Principal of UNIZIK High School, Awka, Anambra state, Mrs Israel Atinuke with an Award of Excellence in Administration.

The award conferred on the Principal during the 2025 International Day for Senior Citizens Celebration held at the ASUU Secretariat was in recognition of her outstanding leadership quality and selfless service to humanity.

Responding, Atinuke thanked God for the prestigious honour, describing it as reminder of the responsibility accompanying it.

She promised to work more assiduously in seeing that her school continued to take its place as the best among equals under her watch.

“I am deeply humbled and feel highly honored by your love displayed in rejoicing with me. This history would not have been possible without you.

“Your encouragement, support advise, trust, criticism even when it seems not convenient meant the whole world to me because it has brought forth good fruits.

“I take the award not just as a recognition of my humble efforts but also a reminder of the responsibility that comes with it.

“I look forward to continuing to make a difference by depending absolutely on God’s mercy and grace,” she said.

A parent in the school, Celestine Oguegbu while congratulating the principal, described the award as well-deserved.

He said, “Congratulations, Madam Principal, on your well-deserved Award of Excellence in Administration!

“Your dedication, leadership, and unwavering commitment to the growth of UHS continue to inspire us all.

“This recognition is a clear testimony that your efforts are seen and valued beyond the walls of UHS.

“May this be the beginning of even greater honours ahead. We are proud of you, ma. Keep shining!”
