Anambra State Government has promised to wade into the lingering crisis ravaging the Nigeria Union Of Local Government Employees, NULGE.
This is to find a lasting solution and ensuring that peace returns to the union.
The Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Chief Tony-Collins Nwabunwanne made the promise after having a closed door meeting.
The meeting was held with the National President of NULGE, Comrade Aliyu-Haruna Kankara with some national, zonal and Anambra executives.
Nwabunwanne said: ” I was invited to help bring an end to the lingering crisis and we shall do just that”.
Also the Head of Service, Mrs Theodora Igwegbe addressed the group.
Igwegbe frowned at the state executive of the union for not carrying her along even before the crisis.
She charged them to stop every protest forthwith to enable her meet with the parties to bring peace back to the union
The National President of NULGE Comrade Kankara, stated categorically that the comrade Eucharia Uyawune led-exco of the union in Anambra is the authentic exco.
Kankara said she was duly elected by the national body.
She stressed that they cannot allow another faction to disorganised the union under any guise.
The Anambra Acting President of NULGE, Uyanwune assured that her Executives will toe the path of peace whenever it is initiated.
