Police in Anambra state have arrested two suspects over stealing of Mack Truck together with an empty container in Achalla.
Command spokesperson Tochukwu Ikenga identified the suspects as Chinwendu Ndieli and Uchenna Offodile.
Ikenga said they were apprehended by operatives from Achalla Division and members of the Special Vigilante Taskforce of Achalla.
He said operatives from Okpoko Division also recovered an abandoned Toyota Camry Spider along Onitsha–Owerri Road.
According to him, the suspects confessed to the crime while the owner has been contacted to come with necessary documents to reclaim the vehicle.
He said, “Sept. 23, a joint taam of Police and vigilance group arrested two male suspects – Chinwendu Ndieli and Uchenna Offodile.
“The team acted on the report of a Mack Truck with Registration No. T 5003 LA, together with an empty container suspected to have been stolen.
“The truck was parked near St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Achalla.
“Upon interrogation, the suspects confessed to the crime and revealed how the truck was stolen from a company in Lagos.
“Meanwhile, the owner has been contacted to come with the necessary documents to reclaim the vehicle.
“In a similar development, on the same date, Police from Okpoko Division received credible information about an abandoned vehicle along Onitsha–Owerri Road.
“Acting promptly,a patrol team moved to the scene and discovered a white Toyota Camry Spider with Registration No Anambra: AWK 91 SR.
“During the search, an additional plate number Delta: 06A 90 DT was recovered inside the vehicle.
“The car has since been recovered to the station for safekeeping, identification and possible collection by the rightful owner.
“Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, has continue to stabilise the safety and security of the state”.
