Anambra Govt distributes learning aids to special needs schools

Sixteen schools in Anambra have received digital learning aids and other materials to support children with special needs.

This was part of Gov. Chukwuma Soludo’s drive to make education inclusive and accessible to all.

The items included talking computers, braille reading materials, therapeutic mirrors and  wheelchairs.

Others are crutches, portable speakers, massage equipment for pupils with cerebral disabilities, among others.

Benefiting schools, on the other hand included Peace Therapeutic School, Obosi; Special Primary and Secondary School for the Deaf, Obosi;.

Also, Isulo Primary and Secondary School for the Deaf and Visually Impaired, among others.

Speakingin Awka, Commissioner for Education, Prof. Ngozi Chuma-Udeh restated government commitment to inclusive education.

She expressed confidence that the initiative would boost learning for special needs students in public and private schools.

“Gov. Soludo’s passion for education is ‘Unrivaled’. 

“That’s why he is intentional about inclusive education and ensuring that no child is left behind,” she added.

Dr Vera Nwadinobi, Chairman, Anambra State Universal Basic Education Board, said the distribution was a reflection of Soludo’s performance dashboard in basic education.

Nwadinobi said the government is commitment in carrying along every segment of the education sector.
