Anambra LP lawmaker defects to YPP

Mr Henry Mbachu, member representing Awka South constituency-1 in the Anambra Assembly, has left the Labour Party (LP) and joined the Young Progressives Party (YPP).

Mbachu made this known in a statement in Awka.

He said his decision to join YPP followed the  consideration of the manifesto of the party’s candidate, Mr Paul Chukwuma in the Nov. 8 governorship election in the state.

“For the Nov. 8 Anambra governorship election, I am going to work with the candidate who has presented the best manifesto.

“His manifesto suits the people of Awka and Okpuno and hie is a candidate who represents the young minds.

“A candidate who presented an understandable blueprint on how to develop Anambra from consumption to production.

“A candidate who has shown that industries can be built across the state, His Excellency, Mr Paul Chukwuma,” he said.

Mbachu said Chukwuma’s manifesto fits into his own set legislative agenda for his constituents.

According to him, his candidacy has a compelling vision and plan for Anambra, which is comparable to none else.

Mbachu also assured his constituents that the YPP was the best option in realizing their collective interests.

“I am here this day to declare to you my defection from LP to the YPP.

“This decision is made on the foundation of a carefully thought-out way for the good people of Okpuno with the best interest at heart,” he said
