Anambra Community to Soludo: ‘You’ve done so well, we can’t oppose you’

Igwe Chris Oranu of Omor kingdom in Ayamelum local government area of Anambra state and his people have expressed support for Gov. Chukwuma Soludo’s administration. 

They reiterated their commitment to the governor’s re-election bid.

Oranu who spoke during their New Yam Festival, said the people distanced themselves from negative online sentiments against the government.

They emphasized that the governor had done so much good for them that they could not afford to oppose his administration.

“We are not ready to fight the government because we’ve had deep-rooted ties with the government. 

“The people of Omor are known for love and value true friendship.

” We want more dividends from your administration as we assure you of continued partnership,” the monarch added.

Addressing the people, the Governor expressed gratitude for the unwavering support he has received from the community.

He recalled his initial experience in the community when he first ran for office of the Governor.

“Omor showed me extraordinary love before now, and I will continue to reciprocate,” he stated.

The governor highlighted key achievements, including the ongoing construction of a 30-kilometer road, delayed by rain but set for completion next dry season.

He stressed the role of infrastructure in improving connectivity, especially in Ayamelum, the state’s largest local area by land mass.

Soludo also spoke on his administration’s commitment to the health and educational sectors in Ayamelum. 

He revealed the establishment of 11 primary health centers and one smart schools in Omor.

Soludo assured the people of further projects in the coming days.

He further highlighted previous discussions with community stakeholders during the gubernatorial campaigns.

He affirmed his commitment to fulfilling promises made, including addressing requests for recruitment in areas such as education. 

“We did so during the teachers’ recruitment, and I am determined to connect Ayamelum to Awka instead of having people go through Igbariam. 

“We however, need your cooperation to move the region forward. 

“We can do quite a whole here. I am very particular about those forgotten and left behind,” Soludo stressed.

The event, marked by the new yam cutting, celebrated the harvest and renewed the community’s commitment to growth and collaboration for a brighter future.
