A prominent group from Nigeria’s North-East region to behas issued a public apology to former President Goodluck Jonathan.
The group apologised over past accusations linking Jonathan to the sponsorship of terrorism in the region.
The group admitted they were misled by a former United States President and certain Nigerian politicians who, they claim, acted out of desperation.
At a Press conference, the group expressed regret for the unfounded allegations and praised Jonathan’s leadership style.
They said his leadership style was a stark contrast to the current economic and security challenges facing the country.
Calling for national redemption, the group appealed to the former President to run for office again in the 2027 general elections.
They described Jonathan as the leader capable of rescuing Nigeria from what they termed the “shackles of economic quagmire.”
