As the Anambra South senatorial bye-election draws near, Action Alliance (AA) candidate, Chijioke Onyekaonwu has vowed commitment to transparency and community-driven development.
He also pledged to be a leading voice for grassroots-driven governance and accountable leadership.
Speaking during a media briefing in Nnewi, Onyekaonwu outlined manifesto that include grassroots feedback mechanism for continuous engagement with constituents.
He said masses-driven projects focused on infrastructure and social welfare were also part of his manifesto.
“The core of my campaign is a commitment to transparency and community-driven development.
“I’m rallying voters under the campaign slogan “Let the masses live,” with a promise to center the needs of ordinary citizens over elite interests.
“I’ll also ensure effective representation aimed at uplifting marginalised voices and promoting accountability in government.
“We need to make decisions based on what the people actually want not what a select few dictate.”
Onyekaonwu warned voters against ongoing efforts to derail the election through unethical practices, including vote buying, urging the electorate to resist such attempts.
“Whoever buys your vote will also sell you out. I’m calling for a collective stand against transactional politics and for a renewed focus on leadership that reflects the people’s will,’ he said.
The Senatorial candidate urged residents of Anambra South to turn out enmass and vote for a future that places their needs and voices at the center of governance.
“On August 16, we have a real opportunity to demand the representation we deserve.
“Let’s vote for progress, for accountability and for ourselves,” he stressed.
