Shun rumour peddlers, insist on credible sources – Soludo tells Ndị Anambra

Anambra state government has cautioned citizens and residents of the state against spread of misinformation and disinformation.

It urged them to rely on credible sources for information and to verify facts before sharing.

Commissioner for Information, Dr Law Mefor said the warning was issued during the 17th meeting of the year of the Anambra State Executive Council (ANSEC) at the Light House Awka:

He said the warning was targeted at promoting peaceful and informed environment, particularly in the lead-up to the upcoming elections in Anambra State.

Mefor disclosed other significant decisions taken at the meeting to include reviewing of memos and projects approval.

These include plans to rehabilitate and complete Amichi-Osumenyi road by Anambra Road Maintenance Agency (ARMA) for N670,968,919.05.

He said, “A contract worth N2,754,734,086.72 was given to BENEJAF INT’L LTD by the Council for the construction of the Ugwuaku-Ibugughu-Osu-Umuchu road.

“St. Stephen – Isiokwe road construction contract was awarded to New Idea Construction Company Nig. Ltd in the sum of N1billion contract by the council.

“These approvals are subject to the terms and conditions of the contracts and adherence to the state’s procurement regulations,” mentioned stated.
