The Economic Empowerment programme for 1000 Anambra women was under the Renewed Hope Initiative(RHI).
The empowerment is in conjunction with the Tony Elumelu Foundation and Anambra state Government.
Recall that the First Lady Oluremi Tinubu on Tuesday inaugurated the empowerment programme for 18,500 women nationwide and it being domesticated in Anambra.
The programme was targeted at women traders and small-scale business owners, with each recipient receiving a grant of N50,000.
The Initiative planned to empower 500 beneficiaries in Anambra but the state government supported with addition 500 beneficiaries.
Speaking with journalists, Dr Nonye Soludo said the beneficiaries were picked from communities and targeted at indigent women.
The First Lady urged the women to use the funds to grow their businesses and improve their lives and families.
Soludo alo urge well-meaning individuals to prioritize the needy in the society.
She distributed wheelchairs to some persons with disabilities and offered free health checks for participants .
