Over 30 persons from different political parties have decamped to All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) at a political campaign rally organized by Ward 4 party faithful, Nteje, Oyi Local Government area of Anambra state.
The decampees endorsed Governor Chukwuma Soludo for second tenure.
Speaking at the rally, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Political Mobilization, Obiajulu Nwoye said the decampees joined APGA as a result of Soludo’s outstanding performances.
“This is a culture we have built up in Nteje. So many are coming to join APGA because of what the governor is doing in Anambra State,” he said.
Nwoye condemned attitude of some former APGA members currently in the opposition parties.
He lamented that they had forgotten the finger that fed them and made them better than they were formerly.
Nwoye expressed confidence that Soludo’s achievements would speak for him at the November 8 governorship election.
On the recent upsurge of violent crimes in the state, Nwoye said, “even in the time of Christ there was crime.
“What the governor is doing is to bring it to zero tolerance,” he said.
Oyi LGA for APGA
Chairman of Oyi Local Government area, Emmanuel Nweke, said, “The large turn up is just for a ward not the entire Nteje community.
“So, ward 4 is APGA land, Oyi is APGA land, Anambra is APGA land and Soludo is the man to beat come November 8.
“The decampees decided by themselves to join APGA because they know where we are going, they have seen tomorrow.
“Soludo is the candidate. They won’t regret their decision to join the moving train,” he added.
Nweke commended the leader of the Congress of Councillors, Emeka Nwabude, chairman of ward 4 Nteje, Ikenna Nwankwo and the party members for successful endorsement of Soludo’s second tenure bid.
The APGA Chairman, Oyi Local government, Harold Maduka, said, “We want to sensitize the people on what Soludo’ is doing, Nteje is APGA, Anambra is APGA, we cannot lose this election.
“We are not fighting anybody in this election. Soludo has done so much that his achievements will speak for him come 8 November this year,” he stated.
Also, Chairman of APGA ward 4, Nteje, Nwankwo Ikenna, said they endorsed Soludo for what he is doing, describing him as “Oluatuegwu.”
