Governorship candidate of Action Alliance (AA) Chief Ozo Nweke has charged co-contestants to insist on issue-based campaigns than making derogatory statements with their attendant self-dishonour.

Nweke who gave the advice in a statement on Tuesday also urged them to shun temptation of contemplating display of legendary misspeak, including negative attributes that will ultimately diminish their integrity.

He enjoined his rivals to rather embrace good spirit of sportsmanship.

He said, “Let the political players, I mean my fellow candidates at this political campaign era, shun every temptation of contemplating this display of legendary misspeak.

“They should avoid using negative attributes which ultimately will diminish their integrity. Let us have a good spirit of sportsmanship.

“Let us showcase our good intentions which are in our articles in stock for our people.

“At this, it will be so declared that, indeed, Anambra state has come of age and the people have unity of purpose that gears towards genuine problem solving.

Shun derogatory statements

Nweke further advised, “To sum it up, let us play fine politics by engaging on issue-based campaigns than making some derogatory statements with attendant self dishonour.”

He described politics as natural phenomenon embedded in humanity coded by conscious and unconscious internal resolve.

Nweke stressed the need for politicians to always exert influence and be influenced.

“Therefore, it becomes imperative to abide by the dynamics and tendencies that allow sophistication which is the evidence of our intelligence of having genuine human relationship.

“Governor Chukwuma Soludo had earlier noted that politics has provided him a platform to make a positive change in the society.

“I sincerely agree with him on that, as well as change is constant, flowing like a river in our current time.

“It washes away old pattern, replacing it with new ones every time.

“However, let it be known to all men that, though, old patterns may as well be good but we are still faced with the temptation of achieving perfection which always elude us, thus, we crave for better.

“I don’t see anything wrong in having multiple options in display of our intentions of attending to issues facing us as a people which has manifested in our diverse policies and strategies,” he stressed.
