The Minister of State for Works, Bello Muhammad Goronyo, has charged All Progressive Congress social media influencers to actively promote the achievements of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Sokoto State Governor, Ahmed Aliyu.
The minister made the appeal during a one-day capacity building training conducted for these influencers.
He stressed that showcasing governmental accomplishments is essential in informing the public and reinforcing the credibility of the current administration.
According to Goronyo, accurate reporting on governmental initiatives can greatly influence how citizens view various development projects across sectors.
The minister stressed that it is a crucial aspect of fostering a supportive political environment.
Addressing participants, Sokoto State Deputy Governor, Idris Muhammad Gobir, who represented Governor Ahmed Aliyu, also highlighted the importance of media professionals in political affairs.
He explained that the state government prioritizes their involvement in governance.
Gobir urged the participants to counteract any negative narratives propagated by the opposition.
The state APC Chairman, Isah Achida, also encouraged influencers to enhance their promotional efforts for government’s initiatives.
He pointed out that there are multiple projects in Sokoto needing visibility to effectively compare them against the previous administration’s record.
