A PoS male operator has been electrocuted in Nibo in Awka South Local Government Area of Anambra State.
The deceased was electrocuted after a high-tension wire reportedly cut and fell on him.
A trending video from the incident scene showed the POS operator standing in front of his shop located under the high-tension wire.
The video also showed his lifeless body still on the ground, with the high-tension wire lying on his body.
Sources from the area which revealed the deceased recently got married.
They attributed the unfortunate incident to deliberate acts of building or trading under the high-tension wire.
Reacting, Managing Director, Awka Capital Territory Development Authority, Mr Ossy Onuko, described the incident as unfortunate.
According to him, these are reasons the agency carried out sensitization and enforcement against building or trading under high-tension wire.
“This is something we have been campaigning against from time to time.
“It is very dangerous to build or trade under the high-tension wire.
“Many people even vilify us for the enforcement against such suicide mission,” he added.
