Nigeria’s national women’s basketball team, D’Tigress, have arrived in Abuja following their historic triumph at the 2025 FIBA Women’s AfroBasket tournament in Cote d’Ivoire.
The team touched down at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport at exactly 2:15 p.m. on Monday
They were greeted by fans, media and officials. Their arrival had been initially scheduled for 12 noon but was delayed.
D’Tigress secured their seventh AfroBasket title on Sunday after defeating Mali 78–64 in the final.
This victory continued their dominance on the continent and solidifying their place as Africa’s top women’s basketball team.
