Nigeria’s Super Falcons have been rewarded by the Federal Government following their historic triumph at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

President Bola Tinubu on Monday announced a generous package for the victorious team.

The package include $100,000 cash and a three-bedroom apartment for each player.

In a ceremony at the Presidential Villa, Tinubu also conferred national honours of the Order of the Niger (OON) on all members of the team.

He recognised their exceptional performance and contributions to national pride.

“This victory is more than a sporting achievement—it is a symbol of Nigerian excellence, resilience, and unity.

“The Super Falcons have not only made us proud, but they have also inspired millions of young girls across our country,” Tinubu said.

The technical staff were not left out in the reward

Each coach and support personnel received $50,000 as a token of appreciation for their role in guiding the team to glory.

The Super Falcons clinched the 2024 WAFCON title after a thrilling campaign that saw them go unbeaten throughout the tournament.

The victory marks Nigeria’s 10th WAFCON title.
