Mandsons global Service has kick-started its nationwide project titled National Market Leadership Summit (MLAN) aimed at mobilizing market leaders, government institutions and concerned professionals to proffer pragmatic solutions to complex challenges bedeviling our market and business places nationally.
The event themed, “Harnessing the potential of our Markets for impact, safety, and productivity,” also featured award to individuals, leaders, and businesses that have done credibly and excellently well in market cohesion and advancement in Nigeria market/business places.
Addressing the gathering, Governor Chukwuma Soludo, represented by the Commissioner for Information, Dr Law Mefor, Speaking, commended the vision of the organizers of the summit.
According to him, the summit would assist in no small measure towards curtailing the challenges confronting businesses and markets in the state and beyond.
The governor called on market leaders to key into the digitization drive of the state by harnessing the potential of online platforms to take their busiensses to the world.
“Government through the Solution Innovation District SID has trained many youths to become millionaires.
“We have also test-run and ascertain that you can digitize your businesses by taking them to the global stage.
“Send your apprentices to us and we shall give them the requisite training to run your businesses successfully online.
“The One youth, two skills programme is also helping to raise millionaires among our youths.
The Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, represented by Assistant Commissioner of Police, Celestine Umeh, expressed support for the summit.
“This step is in the right direction because it will help the traders to better understand that the police is not against them. We are partners in progress with Mandsons Global Service Ltd.”
Market challenges
The National Secretary, National Market Leadership Summit, Bonaventure OgoChimee, listed the problems facing markets and business places in the country to include: constant fire outbreaks which endangers life and property.
He also mentioned incessant carbon emission from generators, insecurity in markets, unhygienic trading environment, lack of safety measures to handle emergencies as well as importation, production and marketing of contraband and sub-standard products in Nigerian markets.

OgoChimee said, “This is a dynamic platform aptly created to move Nigerian markets forward and reposition it for greater deliveries in leap and bound and at the same time empower traders and SMEs through soft loans and grants for growth and establishment.
“The summit will enhance the lives of traders and our markets at large. A National Market Compendium from Mandsons Global Service Ltd will assist in serving as a guide into Nigerian markets,” he disclosed further.
Life-saving demonstrations
Also, the Nigerian Red Cross Society, Anambra State chapter led Helen Nnaji, Officer in charge of training, demonstrated the ideal ways of treating emergencies before accessing medical attention for victims.
Mrs Iniobong Ebong, an Assistant Director who represented the Director, National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, NAFDAC, Agulu Lab Services, reiterated the resolve of the agency to rid the country of fake/adulterated products.
This she noted is necessary to protect the well-being of Nigerians and visitors.
Also addressing the gathering, Ejidike Valentine, who represented the Chief Fire Officer, Anambra State Fire Service, advised traders to take precautions against fire outbreaks which lead to poverty.
“Do not keep inflammable/flammable materials in your shops. Also very important, get fire extinguishers within reach in cases of emergency.
Justin Francis, who represented the Sector Commander of Federal Road Safety Corps, called on traders to update their vehicles’ particulars to avoid waste of time while on transit.
“It is also good that you understand road signs as lack of knowledge of such can lead to road traffic crash.
Clamour for repetition
The President General, Anambra State Markets Amalgamated Traders’ Association, ASMATA, Chief Humphrey Anuna, appreciated the summit organizers for package which is at the heart of the problems confronting traders.
“This programme is very good and will help all the traders. We shall time to plan another one that will hold at Main market Onitsha.”
The chairman of the occasion, Chief Ofoleh Obiorah, expressed satisfaction with the summit and echoed the request by the PG for a repeat in no distant time.
Highlight of the occasion was presentation of excellence awards to 15 market leaders and business magnates, including ASMATA PG, Chief Humphrey Anuna, Chief Ofoleh Obiorah, and Dr Jerry Ugochukwu Nwachukwu, President, Human Care Initiative.
The programme which kick-started in Anambra for the South-East region will hold in all the six geo-political zones of the country.
