The people of Achalla in Awka North Local Government Area of Anambra State have thrown their weight behind Governor Chukwuma Soludo for his second term bid in office.
They attributed their decision to the proven track record of Governor Soludo within the last three years that he has governed the state.
They stated this during a rally organized by Nwanayoeze Achalla Support Group at various village squares in the community.
The people, mostly men, women, and youths of voting age, said the developmental strides of Governor Soludo has endeared him to the grassroots across the state.
The former President General of Achalla Improvement Union, Comrade Charles Okadigbo, convened of the rally.
He said the entire community was in support of Governor Soludo and would give him their vote on November 8 2025.
Comrade Okadigbo said the Governor has demonstrated so much Love for the entire Awka North keeping his campaign promises to give farmers a sense of belonging.
More development anticipated
Okadigbo, a Special Adviser to former Governor Willie Obiano on Agriculture, hoped that Soludo’s second will bring more development to Achalla.
He drew the attention of the Governor to the President General election of the community which was put on hold for no specific reason.
According to him, the entire community is peaceful and without any form of chaos that would warrant the constitution of a caretaker committee.
For his part, Deputy Chairman, APGA, Awka North Local Government Area, Mr Emeka Iliemena, mentioned some of the roads that were abandoned but completed by Governor Soludo.
They include Isuaniocha to Achalla, Amansea to Awba Ofemili, Amansea to Ufuma among others which have opened up the agrarian LGA.
Mr Iliemena hoped that the administration having conducted local government election within his first tenure, will remain focused to do more for the grassroots.
Another Community leader, Chief Obinna Nweke said the Governor deserves the second term to enable him continue the infrastructural development he is embarking upon in all parts of the state.
Addressing the people, the Palace Secretary to the Traditional Ruler of Achalla, Mr Patrick Nwora, agreed with the calls for Governor Soludo to go for a second term due to several indicators of good governance on ground.
Nwora said any move foist caretaker executive on the people would be counter-productive especially when the entire people have prepared for the election.
A woman leader, Mrs Chinyeaka Obalim and the Chairman Achalla Improvement Union, Idemili branch, Chief Nonso Igwenma reiterated their total support for Governor Soludo.
They enjoined the people to get their permanent voter’s cards ready for the election.
