Anambra State Commissioner for Power and Water Resources, Julius Chukwuemeka says Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s re-election deserved more than votes of Ndi-Anambra at the November 8 governorship election.
The Commissioner made the assertion in his office when Maxwell Iwunor, former People’s Democratic Party, (PDP) candidate for Federal House of Representatives in Anambra East and West federal constituency visited him.
Iwunor recently dumped the PDP for the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).
The Commissioner described the massive defection from other political parties to APGA as clear indication of quality performance of the Soludo-led administration.
Chukwuemeka maintained that Soludo came prepared with manifestoes and a 50- year plan which he has religiously been implementing.
He said, “Just yesterday at the executive meeting, he was ticking off the promises made, the things achieved.
“From the look of things, he had so far surpassed his promises to Ndi-Anambra in several sectors.
“So, any well meaningful Anambrarian, who is not selfish but has the interest of Anambra at heart will certainly want to work with Soludo’s government.
“Within three years in office the results are numerous. You can now connect the four major cities of the state within minutes.
Aguleri-Otu now remembered
According to the Commissioner, the Governor is also connecting the agrarian communities in the state.
“Enugu-Otu Aguleri Community has never had it like this before. Even when Aguleri had the Governor, I don’t think they saw what they are seeing today.
“Mr. Governor is not just doing this to the good people of Enugu-Otu Aguleri alone, but across the state.
“He had clearly demonstrated his political philosophy of One State-One People Agenda: Living No One behind which is the slogan of our great party, (APGA) “.
Maxwell Ideife Iwunor had earlier told the Commissioner that he took the decision after analyzing the political happenings across the state and country.
“I have every reason to joining a political party. The first thing I considered most was my communal interest, which is above my self-interest.
“What my community wants supersedes my own interests. My community has benefited a lot in the present government in the state.
“Every reasonable human being in Enugu-Otu Aguleri know the right thing to do in order to pay back Governor Soludo through their voting.
“Enugu-Otu Aguleri Community with a very large voting strength have to pay Governor Soludo for having done remarkable things in the area.
“He constructed access road, installed electricity facilities and built a brand-new general hospital in the community.
Above all, he appointed one of our sons, Engr Julius Chukwuemeka as Commissioner for Power and Water Resources in his administration.
“The first visit I made in this APGA uniform is to the Commissioner for him to at least confirm that this is not one manufacturing picture, but real”, he concluded.
