Candidate of the Labour Party for Anambra State election, Dr George Moghalu has promised to pull government force to develop agriculture massively in Omambala axis of the State, if elected.
Omambala is a large clan made up of six Local Government Areas which include Anambra East and West, Oyi, Ayamelum, Awka North and Dunukofia.
Moghalu made the promise in Umueri while addressing Omambala Stakeholders during a town hall meeting made up of eminent personalities.
The meeting had top ranking traditional rulers, elder statesmen, captains of industries, the clergy and the political class in attedance.
He assured that he had knowledge about the potential of Omambala clan in agriculture and would ensure the potential would be fully unleashed for the benefit of the State.
Moghalu said, “There is no sentiment about it, Omambala has the potential to feed Anambra State as its food basket.
“I want to assure you that I will elevate Omambala to take up the noble role as the food basket of the State.
Mechanized agriculture
The LP candidate promised, “I will provide security and ensure that farmers get all the necessary materials.
“This will enable them engage in mechanized farming to cultivate and process food at the commercial level.
“Then, people can go to Eke Awka or Nkwo Nnewi and buy food stuff produced in Omambala villages.”
On security, Labour Party candidate assured he would put an end to security challenges like killings and kidnapping.
“I’ll apply modern security gadgets as obtainable in Enugu, including vehicle with radio communication, walkie talkies, wider range of CCTV camera and adequate remuneration of vigilante operatives.
“I’ll make security job attractive to University graduates.

“I will enhance quality education, health care services and boost road infrastructure across the Omambala axis.
“I’m going to restore people’s confidence in government by being accessible, transparent and accountable in discharging his duties.
“I vow to serve for only one tenure to pave the way for the smooth maintenance of zoning and rotation of power in Anambra State,” he added.
Moghalu’s vistion lauded
President of the Omambala Union and elder statesman Dr Chike Obidigbo said the Omambala is at home with Dr Mogbalu’s plan for the State, especially his decision to serve for only one tenure to pave way for zoning and rotation of power.
The elder statesman who doubles as President of Osisioma Foundation said “George, you are my friend and I know you very well.
“Because you recognize zoning, we will make sure that zoning remains on board so.
“After the next governor from South competes eight years for South, it will come to Central and subsequently to the North again.”
Former Chief Judge of Anambra State, Rtd Justice Obidigwe, Zonal Chairman of Anambra North Council of Traditional rulers, Igwe Dr Benjamin Okeji and traditional ruler of Umeri HRM Igwe Ben Emeka noted that God is the maker of kings.
They advised the LP flagbearer to keep moving around to sell his ideas and plans.
The stakeholders also prayed for him to succeed in his ambition to become the governor.
