Bauchi State Bans DJs

The Bauchi State Hisbah Commission has introduced a set of new regulations.

The rules were aimed at curbing the increasing rate of divorce across the state.

In a statement, the commission said the 16-point guidelines are designed to uphold the moral and spiritual integrity of marriage.

Part of the new rules are practices such as hiring DJs and hosting gala events.

Others uch as engaging in local customs like kawayawade and aloba have been banned for allegedly encouraging immorality.

The commission emphasized that these restrictions will be strictly enforced at recreational centers, event halls and clubs.

And the enforcement will be in accordance with Sections 95, 362, and 373 of the Bauchi State Sharia Penal Code.
