President Bola Tinubu on July 17, announced that the University of Maiduguri will be renamed Muhammadu Buhari University, Maiduguri.
He said it is in honour of the late former president.
The announcement came during a special Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting dedicated to Buhari.
Tinubu paid tribute to his legacy of discipline, moral strength, and patriotism.
“Can we adopt the naming of the University of Maiduguri with a new name — Muhammadu Buhari University, Maiduguri,” Tinubu said.
The announcement drew applause from attendees.
