A total of 19 indigent students from tertiary institutions across Anambra State will receive scholarship awards at the 2025 edition of the Dr. Chioma Awuzie Foundation (DCAF) Annual Scholarship Award and Charity Programme.
The event, according to the Programme Officer, Miracle Awuzie-Okafor, will hold at the Federal Polytechnic Oko.
He said the occasion will to bridge the gap between ambition and opportunity for Nigeria’s underprivileged youth.
It will also celebrate the 52nd birthday anniversary of the Founder, Dr. Chioma Awuzie.
The statement read: “DCAF has remained a leading non-governmental, non-profit organization focused on promoting education, youth empowerment, women’s development, and humanitarian outreach.
“The foundation continues to invest millions in scholarships, mentorship and charitable initiatives aimed at uplifting vulnerable populations and strengthening the social fabric of communities.
Awuzie-Okafor said, 19 outstanding indigent students from six major public tertiary institutions in Anambra State will receive one-off academic scholarships for one session.
The students he noted have demonstrated resilience and academic excellence despite economic hardship.
“The Foundation will engage in charitable outreach during the event, including feeding hundreds of guests and community members to ensure no one benefits from this celebration of hope.
Items to students, widows
“There will also be distribution of gift items to students, widows, and economically disadvantaged individuals; and empowering selected youths and women with tools, resources, and startup support for small-scale businesses and skills development.”
“These acts of love and compassion exemplify DCAF’s holistic approach to community upliftment—empowering minds, nurturing lives, and restoring dignity.”
The foundation called for partnerships and support from well-meaning individuals, groups, and corporate entities to further its mission of empowering indigent youths and women through education and charitable acts.
“In pursuit of this noble mission, DCAF is appealing to captains of industry, education stakeholders, corporate organizations, donor agencies, humanitarian groups, and individuals to join us in expanding our reach and deepening our impact.
“Your support can enable us to touch more lives and open new doors of opportunity for youth and women across Nigeria.
“No child should be denied an education, and no woman should be excluded from economic participation due to poverty,” says Dr. Chioma Awuzie – the Founder of DCAF.
“With your partnership, we can build a more inclusive and equitable society.
“The foundation invites donations to support its life-changing work.
“All donations, whether large or small, will be directed toward scholarships, charitable outreach, empowerment programmes, and sustainable community development initiatives,” the statement concludes.
