UNIZIK announces N150,000 annual scholarships to High School top UTME scorers

Management of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra has announced scholarship award for the top eleven students of UNIZIK High School who excelled in the recently concluded 2024/2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

According to Acting Vice-Chancellor, Prof Carol Arinze-Umobi, the scholarship is designed to encourage the students to continue striving for excellence.

She announced that the scholaship, with a N150,000 prize tag, would be presented annually to students who maintain an average of 3.50 CGPA in their first year of study.

“To qualify for the scholarship, the students must have selected UNIZIK as their first choice and scored 300 or above in the UTME,” Arinze-Umobi added.

Reacting, Principal of the school, Mrs Israel Atinuke expressed joy over the acting VC’s gesture to the students, saying it would motivate the teachers to up their ante in subsequent years.

She said, “I’m overwhelmed by the gesture of our visionary and amiable Vice Chancellor who has chosen to honor our outstanding students with scholarship award.

“Infact, she has just challenged us as a school to do more in the coming academic session.”
