The Abia State Police Command has rescued three people who were kidnapped at Afojide Market, Isuochi, in Umunneochi Local Government Area of Abia State last Saturday.
The spokesperson of the command, Mrs Maureen Chinaka, disclosed this in a press release to newsmen.
According to the release, operatives of the Command’s Intelligence Response Unit and other tactical teams quickly swung into action after receiving the report of the incident, leading to the successful rescue of the victims.
It notes that operatives also arrested some suspected kidnappers connected with the incident.
The arrested suspects are currently undergoing interrogation.
Exhibits recovered from them include one red Lexus 350 Jeep, two million naira cash which was part of the ransom money, three mobile phones and two leg chain shackles.
The release reiterates the commitment of the Command led by Mr. Danladi Isa towards making the entire Abia state safe, secure, and free from crime and criminality.
