Tinubu constitutes inter-ministerial funeral committee for Buhari

President Bola Tinubu has constituted an Inter-Ministerial Committee for the state funeral of former President Muhammadu Buhari.

A statement by Segun Imohiosen, Director, Information and Public Relations, says that Secretary to the Government of the Federation, (SGF), Sen. George Akume, chairs the committee.

The committee is to plan, coordinate a befitting state burial for the late elder statesman.

Other Members of the Committee include the ministers of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Budget and Economic Planning as well as Defence.

Ministers of Information and National Orientation, Works, Interior, FCT as well as Housing and Urban Development are also members.

Other committee members are: Ministers of Art, Culture and Creative Economy, Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare, National Security Adviser and Special Adviser to the President on Policy and Coordination.

Senior Special Assistant to the President on Political and Other Matters, Inspector General of Police, Director-General, Department of State Services (DSS), and Chief of Defence Staff are also in the committee.

The Office of the Permanent Secretary, General Services Office (GSO), will serve as the Secretariat to the Committee.

President Tinubu also directed all Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) to open condolence registers at their respective offices for the public to pay their respects to the late Elder Statesman.

Also, a central condolence register for the diplomatic community and the general public will be opened at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre, Abuja.
