Deploy your experience towards Igbo struggle realization – Otti urges group

Governor Alex Otti of Abia state has called on the Igbo Leaders of Thought to bring in their wealth of experience in service to ensure realization of the Igbo struggle.

 Governor Otti made the call when a delegation of the Igbo Leaders of Thought, visited him at his country home Umuehim Nvosi, Isialangwa South Local Government Area of the state.

The delegation was led by the Chairman of the group, Professor Elochukwu Amuchiazi.

The Governor said his administration is resolved to promoting the unity and dignity of the Igbo people while championing a more inclusive national agenda.

According to him, security remains a critical pillar to achieve sustainable development in the state.

He emphasized that his administration had remained focused over the past two years on transforming the narrative of governance  and restoring the pride of Abia people.

Governor Otti enumerated the administration’s strides in security.

Security Trust Fund

He said the recent launch of the Abia State Security Trust Fund is to raise substantial funds to tackle crime insecurity and secure the environment.

The Governor commended the Igbo Leaders of Thought for their steadfastness in advancing the Igbo cause.

Earlier, the chairman of the Igbo Leaders of Thought, Professor Elochukwu  Amuchiazi explained that the delegation’s visit aimed to promote a Nigeria where the Igbo could thrive and fully realize their aspirations.

Professor Amuchiazi lauded the Governor’s leadership and remarkable achievements.

He called for collaboration among all stakeholders to protect Igbo interests and advance the collective prosperity of the South-East region.

A member of the delegation, Professor Obasi Igwe, applauded Governor Otti for the ongoing development of the Abia Airport City project.

Professor Igwe called for the support of the Federal Government to dredge the Imo River to the coast through Opobo Rivers.

This he noted would connect the South-East directly to the Atlantic Ocean and unlock vast economic opportunities.
