The African Democratic Congress (ADC) leadership has clarified that it has no intention of sidelining state chairmen amid recent internal changes.
Interim National Publicity Secretary Bolaji Abdullahi told media.
Abdullahi said the party, under Interim Chairman Sen. David Mark, met with 37 state chairmen in Abuja to dispel rumors of exclusion.
“We are here to work with them as partners in building a stronger party,” he stated.
He also responded to concerns raised by 2023 presidential candidate Dumebi Kachikwu about the coalition process.
Abdullahi maintained that all actions were constitutional, emphasizing that a presidential candidate holds no official party role.
Chairman of the ADC State Chairmen Forum, Kingsley Ogga, confirmed the chairmen were fully involved in the coalition discussions.
He said they support the leadership’s direction.
Sen. Ireti Kingibe affirmed her commitment to ADC, citing constitutional grounds for her departure from the divided Labour Party.
Lagos ADC Chairman George Ashiru echoed party unity and described the meeting as a show of solidarity and preparation for future growth.
