The Anambra State Police Command has begun documentation and medical screening for vigilante operatives in the state ahead of their upcoming training and reorientation.

Police spokesperson, Tochukwu Ikenga made the disclosure in a statement in Awka.

Ikenga said the training is to equip the operatives on security protocols, human rights and community policing security principles.

“The essence of the training is to enhance collaboration with the Police and other security agencies for overall safety and security in the state.

“It shall also feature lectures on ethics, professionalism and synergy with other security agencies.

“As well as management of crime scene, rule of law, handling of exhibits and other necessary security need-to-know.

“The documentation will help to ensure accountability, enhance the organisational structure of the group and streamline operations in the state.

“This effort demonstrates the Police Command and the State Government’s collaborative commitment to community security and safety,” he said.
