The Alliance of Disabled People (ADP) in Anambra State has endorsed Dr. George Moghalu, Labour Party’s candidate in the upcoming November 8 governorship election.
They made the endorsement during a solidarity visit to Moghalu’s campaign office in Awka.
On behalf of the group, the Coordinator, Comrade Mike Nwakakwa and Secretary, Hon. Joseph Okafor said the decision followed statewide consultation held on June 12.
They cited Dr. Moghalu’s compassion, consistent advocacy, and track record of supporting persons with disabilities as key reasons behind their endorsement.
The group pledged to mobilize voters across all local government areas to support his candidacy.
“You have always stood by us. Now we are standing by you,” they told Moghalu.
Responding, Moghalu expressed appreciation for the endorsement, stressing the value of their support.
“You may be physically challenged, but you are not limited in spirit. We are partners in this journey,” he said.
He pledged full inclusion of persons with disabilities within his campaign team taking active roles in grassroots mobilization.
He reaffirmed his commitment to disability rights, promising to establish a Special Disability Fund,.
The Governorship faithful vowed to enforce accessibility in public infrastructure and introduce targeted skill acquisition programs.
“This endorsement will not be hidden. I am proud to associate with you, and we will walk this path together,” he concluded.
