Health Insurance: Anambra lawmaker enrols 150 constituents

Mr Anayo Okpalaeke, member representing Aguata Constituency-I in the Anambra State House of Assembly, has sponsored the enrollment of 150 constituents into the state’s Health Insurance scheme to promote their healthcare.

Okpalaeke during a community outreach on Saturday at Achina, said the enrollment was to ensure access to quality healthcare in his constituency.

According to him, healthcare is not a privilege but a fundamental right of every citizen.

He said: “I want my constituents to have access to quality healthcare without financial worry. This is why I’m making this commitment today.

“With this health insurance card, you just walk into the hospital and access care free of charge.

“Healthcare remains a top priority for me, and I will continue to deliver people-centered programmes that change lives,” the lawmaker said.

He praised Gov. Chukwuma Soludo’s administration for its strong support of the health insurance platform, calling it a model of people-centered governance.

“Any truly people-focused government must prioritise healthcare, infrastructure, and essential services.

“Gov. Soludo is doing just that and deserves our collective support,” Okpalaeke said.

While thanking his constituents for their support, he pledged to remain accountable to the people by providing annual account of stewardship.

One of the beneficiaries, Archbishop Titus Orji, Chairman of the South East Pentecostal Bishops, appreciated the lawmaker for investing in the health of the people.

Another beneficiary, Mrs Dorothy Udoye, thanked the lawmaker for showing concern to the plight of the people, especially the most vulnerable in the community.
