Former Tunisian President, Moncef Marzouk, sentenced to 22 years in prison

The Criminal Chamber for Terrorism Cases at the Tunis Court of First Instance has sentenced former Tunisian President, Moncef Marzouk, in absentia to 22 years in prison.

His former advisor, Imed Daimi and former Bar Association president, Abderrazak Kilani, were also handed 22-year prison sentences, effective immediately.

According to sources, the rulings are related to terrorism charges, although the specific details and accusations have not yet been made public.
