Commissioner of Police Anambra State Command, Ikioye Orutugu, is on an extensive tour of police formations across Anambra State.
The CP who is prioritizing both near and remote locations, described the visit as strategic move to strengthen community policing and enhance security measures within the state.
According to Police Public Relations Officer, Tochukwu Ikenga, Orutugu on June 18, 2025, made a surprise stopover at the Rapid Response Unit.
He was on an official visit to the Police Mobile Force 54 Squadron, and Area Command both in Onitsha.
“The tour aims to assess the operational effectiveness of the units, identify challenges, and implement effective solutions.

He said the CP emphasized the importance of maintaining high standards of integrity and professionalism, especially adhering to the Police Operational Protocol in their line of duty.
“He frowned and lamented at the unfortunate death of a Police Inspector in Awka a few days ago.
“The son of the late Inspector, unaware of the state of the AK47 rifle assigned to his father, pulled the trigger which regretfully led to the death of the officer, while his second son was wounded and is currently receiving treatment in the hospital.
The PPRO said the CP expressed commitment to the culture of accountability and service excellence.
“The CP admonished the officers to shun corruption, extortion, indiscipline and neglect of family care which can impact negatively on their performance and overall job satisfaction.
In the CP’s entourage are the Assistant Commissioners of Police Administration and Criminal Investigations and other senior officers.
