One person lost his life on Sunday following a road crash involving a Premium Motor Spirit-laden tanker at Umuike Echem community, Nnobi, close to Nnokwa junction, Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra State.
One of the eyewitnesses blamed the accident on driver’s loss of control of the vehicle which crashed into a perimeter fencing.
“The driver lost control of the truck and hit a perimeter fencing as he was trying to navigate a sharp bend in the area,” the witness who preferred anonymity said.
The operatives of the state fire service, it was gathered prevented further disaster from occurring as they controlled the petrol tanker from explosion.
