The EU-backed S+T+ARTS Afropean Intelligence initiative is calling on African artists to explore Artificial Intelligence to showcase their creativity.
Mr Oscar Ekponimo, Managing Director of Gallery of Code, made the assertion in Abuja on Monday.
He announced that 10 artists from Nigeria, Egypt, Tunisia, South Africa, and the Democratic Republic of Congo will be selected for fully funded residencies, including cash support.
“The programme encourages artists to bridge science, technology, and the arts, addressing themes like AI ethics, social justice, and inclusion.
“Applicants must apply by July 27 at starts.eu,” he said.
The initiative is part of the EU’s Horizon 2020 programme, promoting collaboration between artists, scientists, and researchers.
